Bozel - About 15 mins from La Tania by car. Leave La Tania in the direction of Le Praz and follow the road down through St Bon to the roundabout where you turn right towards Bozel. After about 2km you will arrive in the picturesque village of Bozel. Continue through the village and just as you are leaving, turn right at the last roundabout into a parking area alongside a large field, tennis courts, athletics track and children's play area. A river runs along the back and further over you will see the lake with picnic tables all around. On the lake you can hire pedalos, canoes and there is an area to swim under the supervision of a lifeguard.

Family Friendly can personally highly recommend this village as a must to visit in the evening as well as in the day.

Pralognan - Another very picturesque traditional mountain village, where the scenery is just as beautiful, yet quite different to La Tania and Courchevel.

In the village you will find many traditional restaurants and quaint bars and cafes as well as a kids play area and many typical mountain shops.

Around the village you have a vast choice of easy flat country walks (in the winter Pralognan boasts some of the best cross country skiing in Europe) and plenty of places to have a picnic.

This village is a little further away, approx. 30mins from La Tania. Follow exactly the same route as for Bozel but at the last roundabout as you leave Bozel you go straight on following signs for Pralognan.

Family Friendly can personally recommend this village as well worth a visit for all the family. If you have them take your binoculars, as the chamois and bucatan roam in abundance on this side of the valley.

Albertville - About 40mins from La Tania; if you fancy a trip back to civilisation then Albertville is the place. It has plenty of shops, restaurants and people, a real city. The main cobbled street of shops and traditional French cafés/bars is worth a trip down. To find this you need to stay on the main road through Albertville heading towards Annecy. As you pass the big Hotel de Ville on your left, you can turn right after the next lights into a parking area. Walk back to the lights, cross the road and walk straight. Shop away and enjoy the ambiance!

Shopping finished and you fancy a bit of culture? Why not visit the City De Conflan (follow signs that will take you over the other side of the river and up the mountain approx. 15mins from city). Here you will find a very old and well-kept fortress (Chateau Fort) with several quaint shops selling paintings and various little trinkets. Finally, why not relax within the safe walls of the fortress with a nice drink and ice cream for the kids? You can take in the breath taking scenery and the children can run about safely within the square.

Family Friendly can personally recommend a trip here, especially if you fancy a change of scenery. Don't forget to do your food, wine and beer shopping before you leave, as it will definitely save you a few pennies.
